Womens Dress Code

  • (a) County matches – white regulation skirts, white tailored full-length trousers or white tailored plain cropped trousers, falling mid-way between the knee and ankle., white shorts may be worn, but only those that bear the Bowls England logo. The full-length trousers, cropped trousers and shorts may also be worn in Aceit-brand only Royal Blue.

  • Approved County shirts, pale blue waistcoats or zip cardigan, and new white County jacket. Rainwear shall be white waterproofs or the dark blue fleece jacket approved by the County Association, which may also be worn in cold weather. Plain white or pale blue baseball caps may be worn during play only. White bowling shoes. Sandals are not allowed on the green. White socks or footlets may be worn with full-length or cropped trousers. The Wedgewood blue blazer may be worn by Officers, whether playing or on official duty, and non-playing Past Presidents.

  • (b) County Competitions that proceed to the National Championship Finals, played on Mondays and Fridays during the day, i.e. Singles, 2-wood Singles, Pairs, Triples, Fours and Over 55s Fours: All rounds, including the Semi-finals and Finals - Approved Club shirts and knitwear or all white collared tops and white knitwear, white tailored trousers or cut-offs, or skirts, white shoes. Sandals not allowed. All members of a team must be dressed the same above the waist. However, competitors playing in the evening may wear grey trousers.
  • (c) County Competitions that do not proceed to the National Finals. played on Challengers greens i.e. Unbadged Singles and Pairs, Secretaries, Treasurers, Delegates and Match Secretaries Singles, Sussex Champion of Champions: All rounds up to and including the quarter-finals - Approved Club shirts and knitwear or all white collared tops and white knitwear, grey tailored trousers or cut-offs, or skirts, brown, grey or white shoes. Sandals not allowed. All members of a team must be dressed the same above the waist. For the Semi-finals and Finals, as (b) above.
  • (d) National Championship Finals - Players representing Sussex at the National Finals must wear the County uniform as indicated in a) above, and all players in a team must be dressed the same.
  • (e)County Luncheon – County badged players may wear the County shirt and new white County jacket . Blue Wedgewood blazers may be worn by the Officers and Past Presidents. For all other members, Club uniform must be worn. NO SHORTS.
  • (f)President’s Day – as (e) above.
